Dr. Coelho is a mathematician currently working at the Helmut Schmidt University. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Physics, her Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computation and her PhD in Mathematics, all at the University of Minho. Her Doctoral Thesis, completed in 2025, focused on “Neural Networks Based on Differential Equations for Modelling Real Systems” specifically developing architectures that model differential equations to data and methods to incorporate constraints.

Dr. Coelho’s research interests lie at the intersection of mathematics and computer science, with a focus on enhancing the performance of real-world systems modeling. Her primary areas of study include Neural Networks, Scientific Machine Learning, Neural Ordinary Differential Equations, Physics-Informed Neural Networks, and Optimization for Machine Learning. Through her work, she aims to advance the application of mathematical and computational techniques in solving complex real-world problems.
